After the fall of Troy, Odysseus (Matt Damon) begins the long journey home to Ithaca, where his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland) continue to wait as ambitious suitors, led by Antinous (Robert Pattinson), threaten their future. Along the way, Odysseus and his dwindling crew encounter legendary figures including Circe (Samantha Morton) and Calypso (Charlize Theron), facing storms, monsters and seemingly impossible trials.

Rather than treating these encounters as straightforward fantasy, the story explores how myths are born, weaving together fragmented memories, flashbacks and competing accounts of past events. Nolan makes striking use of IMAX photography throughout, while the expansive ensemble gives the story a strong dramatic foundation.
